I first discovered Tunas Muda in 2016 while searching for an International Baccalaureate (IB) school that was close to home and aligned with our family’s values. The IB curriculum, combined with a Catholic foundation, assured me that my children would grow academically, socially, and spiritually.
Celine joined in Pre-K, and I’ve seen her flourish—not only in academics but also in confidence and social skills. She’s now an active student, engaged in projects, events, and clubs. Glenn has also shown remarkable progress both academically and socially.
This growth comes from Tunas Muda’s caring teachers, supportive community, and a learning environment that develops critical thinking, empathy, and a love for learning. As parents, we are included in the journey through active involvement and open communication.
For parents seeking more than just a school, I believe Tunas Muda is a place where children are nurtured to grow in character, compassion, and a lifelong love for learning.
Tunas Muda School is truly a place of growth and I am proud to have grown as an educator and as a leader during my 31 years in this, my second home. Our nurturing culture enables children to grow into responsible, ambitious and principled young people and I am always delighted when former students come back to visit us, sharing their many memories of their primary school days.
Often it’s things that we didn’t realise were important that have become their lasting memories; chatting with teachers over lunch in the canteen, free clothes days when they donated a small amount of money for the excitement of not wearing their uniform for a day, or break times playing basketball in the playground that now seems smaller than the one they remember! These memories remind me that every little thing we do as teachers and as a school, makes a difference and inspires me to continue to work hard to make each day special for our learners and educators.
TM is also a place of growth for our teachers, who attend local, national and international workshops, seminars and conferences, helping them to fulfill the IB philosophy of everyone being a lifelong learner and to inspire them to make their classrooms centers of joy, encouragement and inspiration. Our parents don’t miss out on growing too and I enjoy seeing parents developing their knowledge and understanding when they come to school for workshops and seminars, meetings and events.
Growth also happens in relationships and I am always proud when I think of teachers who joined us early in their careers and have developed into talented educators and nurturing leaders, now passing their knowledge and skills on to a new generation of younger teachers. And I regularly have a little smile on my face when I see the children of our alumni now becoming happy TMers themselves and their parents now fulfilling their new roles as TM mums and dads!
Our school is a very special place and I thank God every day for the blessing of being a TM Principal. If you are visiting our website and would like to find out more about our nurturing community and why our teachers are such proud and happy educators, please come and visit us. You will find out for yourself why Tunas Muda truly is my second home!
It was always my dream to teach in a good school, and that dream came true when I joined Tunas Muda in 2009. For me, this place is more than just a workplace - it truly feels like a family. We are surrounded by supportive leaders, caring staff, enthusiastic learners, and wonderful parents who share the same vision for the children.
The IB curriculum has also been a meaningful part of my teaching journey. It inspires learners to be curious, reflective, and open-minded, while also reminding teachers to keep learning. Every day in the classroom feels like a chance not only to teach but also to discover and wonder together with the children.
The name Tunas Muda reminds me of young seeds - small, full of hope, and ready to flourish. Each learner is like a seed with true potential. Together with parents, our role is to nurture and guide them so they can be the best that they can be.
As our school has stood for more than three decades, it is truly rewarding to see how our learners grow into adults who make a difference in their own ways. Each journey is unique, yet one thing remains the same - at Tunas Muda, everyone is a shining star.
Since joining Tunas Muda in 2021, I have felt that this is not just a workplace, but a community where I continue to grow and feel deeply appreciated for the achievements I have made. What makes Tunas Muda so special to me is the open-minded vision shared by everyone — a vision to keep learning, to keep growing, and to create an environment where both students and teachers can thrive.
As a counselor, I feel very pleased to work in a community that truly values collaboration between teachers and parents. This partnership allows us to see each child shine in their own unique way. It is inspiring to witness how the support and trust from both sides can nurture students to discover their strengths and grow with confidence.
I am also grateful for the warmth and understanding I receive every day, especially from Ms. Rachel, the management team, teachers, and staff. Their encouragement makes me believe that Tunas Muda is more than a school — it is a family. To be part of this community is truly a blessing, and I am proud to call Tunas Muda my second home.
As I reflect on my nine years at Tunas Muda School, I feel truly grateful for the journey I have been entrusted with. What began as an opportunity to teach has grown into a deeply fulfilling experience of leading, learning, and growing alongside an incredible community. I am especially thankful to the school management for their trust and support.
I am privileged to have talented students who are the heart of my teaching journey at Tunas Muda. They are gifted with curiosity, determination, and unique perspectives which are my greatest source of inspiration.
The staff are a caring and dedicated team with a collaborative spirit, creating a positive and enriching environment.
The parents here are truly our wonderful partners as their trust to teachers have been vital in creating an environment where supportive learning thrives.
These nine years have been more than a career - they have been a calling. I am proud to be a part of the Tunas Muda family and I look forward to continuing to contribute to a community that shapes lives, strengthens faith in God, builds character, and inspires future generations to be the best that they can be.
